We hope that this feedback site will continue be an online conversation about the new catalog from those using it across Ohio.
The INFOhio technical team worked hard to implement as many of the suggestions posted to this site as possible in the second release of our online catalog. You will see the updated version of this online catalog beginning on Monday, January 11th.
Improvements in this update of our online catalog include:
- All pages include a more graphical navigation bar
- Results list page sports a new larger RED call number, material type icon, and new “Keep/Kept” toggle button (instead of “Keep/Remove”)
- Visual Search 4 Kids now searches only the HERE library
- Lexile search was modified to better target matching titles
- The Recommended Reading and Best Seller lists have been re-arranged into a more K12-centric list
- The kept list functions have been completely rewritten and can optionally include a comment when emailing results (contact your INFOhio Provider to turn this feature on)
- My account summary page now includes the user name
- Addition of New Titles and Librarian Favorites book lists (Optional – Check with your INFOhio Provider for more information)
- CAT 2.0 is now Chilifresh ready. Chilifresh is a 3rd party vendor which provides subscription access to an integrated Review Engine allowing your patrons to read and write their own book reviews. Chilifresh availability was announced in December.
For more information please see the INFOhio Price List. (This requires the same password as used for the Core Collection.)
Thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to post comments here to help us with the design of our new online catalog.
INFOhio intends to continue improving Cat 2.0 and we plan to move Cat Jr. to this new, more powerful platform in the summer of 2010 as well.
Suggestions made to the first release of Cat 2.0 that we were not able to provide, including the search of other area libraries in the consortium, are still on our enhancement wish list.
Students: We do want to hear your comments and suggestions about the online catalog.
But for suggestions of items that you would like to see in your library please contact your school librarian. The online catalog design team has no vote in what is available in your school library so posting suggestions to this site will not help get the desired items in your library.

Can you make a rating system
Do you mean a rating system as in Reviews with star ratings? This is available from a third party vendor called Chilifresh. For more information concerning Chilifresh, you can go to the Core Collection Plus Price list at http://www.infohio.org/PriceList2009.pdf Please contact your ITC for any additional help.
